SINGAPORE, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) has established the MyHeart Global Connect initiative to boost the country's talent agenda.
The global advisory council comprising 15 Malaysians in 10 countries is set to facilitate collaboration between the government, industries, and the Malaysian diaspora, and create opportunities for mentorship and international partnership.
Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said Malaysians overseas remain an important part of the country's talent ecosystem, and the government wants to harness their expertise, experience, and global networks to complement the nation's development, in a coordinated national effort.
Ramanan said TalentCorp has been tasked to work closely with the Ministry of Human Resource, Malaysian diplomatic missions, industry partners, and the Malaysian diaspora to shape the next chapter of diaspora engagement.
So far, the MyHeart initiative has brought together more than 31,000 Malaysians across 144 countries, said Ramanan.
"Through the MyHeart Global Connect, I hope more Malaysians around the world will share their expertise, mentor our young talent, strengthen international partnerships, connect businesses, and open new doors for Malaysia.
"That is the kind of relationship we want to build. One that is continuous, one that creates value for Malaysians abroad and for Malaysia itself," he said, during the Salam Dari Malaysia @ Singapore networking event on Friday night.
According to TalentCorp Group Chief Executive Officer Biruntha Mooruthi, Singapore remains one of TalentCorp's strongest diaspora communities with almost 4,000 Malaysians registered on the MyHeart platform.
Singapore is also the largest source of applications under TalentCorp’s Returning Expert Programme, she said.
Biruntha said MyHeart Global Connect provides a platform for Malaysians from around the world to offer fresh ideas, global perspectives, and connections that open doors for the country’s talent and institutions.
Also present at the Salam Dari Malaysia @ Singapore event was Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore, Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin.
