PUTRAJAYA, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has completed recording the statement of a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a statutory body-owned company,  as part of its probe into the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the individual's statement was taken to obtain evidence regarding allegations of abuse of power in the purchase of shares in two plantation companies valued at approximately RM370 million.

"Today was the fourth and final day of recording his statement. We began at 9 this morning and ended at 6.30 pm," he said in a statement today.

The MACC detained the 60-year-old individual and the company's former chief executive officer after they came forward to give their statements at its headquarters on Tuesday.

The investigation focuses on alleged abuse of power in the RM370 million purchase of shares in two plantation companies, as raised in the RCI report on Lembaga Tabung Haji.
