92 Witness Statements Recorded Over 14-year-old Student’s Death In Setapak

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur police have recorded statements from 92 witnesses to assist in investigation into the death of a 14-year-old female student at a house in Jalan Langkawi, Setapak here, on Aug 18.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the case was being investigated under Section 507B of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to three years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.

He said further investigations were being conducted by the Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Department following a second police report lodged by the victim’s mother a day after the incident.

“The case is still under investigation and the public is advised not to make any speculations regarding the incident,” he said in a statement today.

Fadil also urged members of the public with information related to the case to contact investigating officer ASP Baldev Singh Gurdial Singh at 03-9289 9222 or 012-480 6062 to assist in the investigation.

Members of the public can also channel information through the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999 or by visiting any nearby police station.
