MAKKAH, Aug 5 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Haj and Umrah has launched a challenge to develop improved personal umbrellas for pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The ministry said the challenge is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience by developing practical solutions that meet pilgrims' needs.
The challenge seeks the development of an innovative, practical and implementable umbrella prototype that is lightweight, easy to carry and use, offers a high level of protection against ultraviolet rays, and can withstand climatic conditions and dense crowds.
The design should also align with the visual identity of the holy sites and be suitable for large-scale production and deployment during the Haj and Umrah seasons.
