TEHRAN, Oct 4 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Iran is ready to contribute to the settlement of the conflict between Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, and Saudi Arabia, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"We have declared our readiness to provide any assistance we can in advancing this process [the settlement of the conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia]," Baghaei told a briefing.
Tehran believes that a roadmap for resolving the crisis developed several years ago could serve as the basis for resolving the conflict, the spokesman added.
On Saturday, the Houthis said that they had carried out strikes using ballistic missiles and drones against an Aramco oil refinery in Riyadh.
The military conflict between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed pro-government army resumed in mid-July after a four-year lull. The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of striking Sanaa airport just as a plane from Iran, carrying a delegation of Houthi leaders, was landing. They also declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia, beginning to attack its vessels in the Red Sea.
