PEOPLElogy Launches National AI Readiness Week To Get 5 Million Malaysians Ai-competent By 2030

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- PEOPLElogy Bhd is targeting five million Malaysians to declare their artificial intelligence (AI) readiness by 2030 through a national movement aimed at strengthening the country’s digital talent pipeline.

The digital workforce transformation company said the initiative sought to help address a shortage of more than 500,000 AI-skilled workers in Malaysia while supporting efforts to unlock the RM50 billion economic potential projected for the country’s AI economy by 2030.

Founder and managing director Allen Lee said National AI Readiness Week 2026 (NAIRW 2026) was aimed at bridging the gap between awareness of AI and the practical skills needed to work effectively alongside the technology.

“We are launching National AI Readiness Week right now because the AI industry stands at a critical crossroads: while the immense economic potential of artificial intelligence is scaling rapidly, our workforce faces a widening gap between passive awareness and actual capability,” he said in a statement today.

Lee said the “I’m AI Ready” movement aimed to secure five million public AI readiness declarations by 2030 through verified assessments, AI Mastery Scholarships and commitments from businesses and corporate leaders.

“Success for us is clear. We are driving toward five million public AI readiness declarations by 2030, ensuring that through verified assessments, active mastery scholarships, and unified commitments from boardrooms and businesses, the digital economy grows with no one left behind,” he said.

NAIRW 2026, which will run from Nov 12 to 18 at two venues in the Klang Valley, is the flagship platform of the 36-month I’m AI Ready national movement launched in June.

As of the end of September, more than 9,100 Malaysians had declared their AI readiness, against the movement’s initial target of 50,000 declarations by the end of 2026, while more than 800 delegates had registered for NAIRW 2026.

The week-long event will feature the I’m AI READY Summit for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, students and the wider workforce; the Build a Future Team Leaders Conference for corporate, human resources and government leaders; and the Asia AI Excellence Awards to recognise organisations driving measurable AI impact.

PEOPLElogy is also offering RM3 million in AI Mastery Scholarships to support Malaysians in AI upskilling, while Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo is scheduled to present the Asia AI Excellence Awards at the closing regional gala.

The movement is being carried out in collaboration with MyDIGITAL Corporation with PEOPLElogy targeting a second edition of NAIRW in the second quarter of 2027 as part of its 36-month commitment to reach five million Malaysians by 2030.
