KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Malaysia in Doha is stepping up efforts to raise awareness of breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and women’s health among the Malaysian community in Qatar through the Breast Cancer Awareness Talk 2026.

The embassy in a statement said the programme, themed “Splash of Pink,” and was hosted on Saturday in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It was jointly organised by PERWAKILAN Doha and Malaysian Ladies in Qatar (MyLQ), and supported by the Malaysian Association of Qatar.

At the event, PERWAKILAN Doha chair Idayuwati Azilan highlighted the importance of increasing awareness among women and encouraged more open conversations on breast health.

“She also emphasised that early detection remains crucial in improving treatment outcomes,” the statement said.

MyLQ advisor Maizatul Lina Mustapa echoed the sentiments and underscored the importance of community support, particularly for women and families affected by breast cancer.

The embassy said it welcomes similar initiatives that bring together not only the Malaysian community but also women of different nationalities in Qatar, while promoting preventive healthcare, greater health awareness, and community well-being.
