SIBU, Oct 3 (Bernama) -- Two people died after the Perodua Bezza they were travelling in collided with a Mitsubishi Triton four-wheel-drive along Jalan Sibu-Durin here this afternoon.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the victims were identified as Julaihi Raduan, 52, and Marliza Salleh, 49. Both were found pinned and unconscious inside the car.
"The department received an emergency call at 4.15 pm. A team of six personnel from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene seven minutes later.
"Firefighters extricated both victims using rescue tools before they were pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health (MOH) medical personnel," Sarawak JBPM said in a statement today.
The department added that the Mitsubishi Triton was carrying five people, including two adults and three children.
"A 33-year-old woman suffered minor injuries, whilst a 45-year-old man and three children aged four, seven, and 10 were reported unhurt," it said.
