KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- A total of 29 areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 10 am today.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, the areas in Selangor were Johan Setia with the air pollutant index at 175, Cheras (172), Shah Alam (170), Batu Muda (166), Klang (163), Petaling Jaya (161), Banting (159) and Kuala Selangor (152).
In Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, the air pollutant index was 166 and 163, respectively.
Other places were Nilai (170), Seremban (161) and Port Dickson (153) in Negeri Sembilan; Pasir Gudang (168), Larkin (165), Kota Tinggi (159), Pengerang (153), Batu Pahat (152) and Kluang (121) in Johor; Indera Mahkota and Balok Baru, Kuantan (162 each), Rompin (133) and Jerantut (122) in Pahang.
Kuala Terengganu (157), Kemaman (152) and Paka (151) in Terengganu; Bandaraya Melaka (155) and Bukit Rambai (153) in Melaka; and Seri Manjung and Tanjung Malim in Perak (151 each).
Meanwhile, 36 areas had a moderate API reading while three areas had a good API reading.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
