SEPANG, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has confirmed that no additional MADANI tickets will be issued for now for the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, as all 10,000 allocated tickets have sold out.
Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, however, did not rule out the possibility of considering additional viewing areas.
"So far, there are no additional tickets, and everything allocated has been sold out. For MADANI tickets alone, 10,000 were allocated. If there are any additions, we will announce them, but as of today, there is no increase.
"We estimate more than 110,000 spectators based on existing capacity. Regarding the MADANI tickets, we are trying to make additions and may open up potential areas for consideration before the event starts," he told reporters today.
Mohammed Taufiq said this after launching the volunteer initiative for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here.
It was previously reported that Malaysians could watch Formula 1 live at SIC with MADANI Tickets as low as RM200 for MyKad holders.
Commenting on the volunteer initiative, Mohammed Taufiq said 500 volunteers would be mobilised specifically for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, scheduled to take place at SIC from Oct 2 to 4.
He said that apart from Formula 1, another 500 volunteers would be assigned to the MotoGP race, bringing the total number of volunteers for both major events to 1,000 so far.
"KBS' approach this time focuses on youth development. We need more volunteers who can build their personal character and identity, allowing us to discover new talents,” he said.
Online applications for volunteers opened today via the MyProfil platform under the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES).
Eligibility criteria include being a Malaysian citizen aged 18 and above, physically fit, disciplined, and possessing good communication skills, with foreign language proficiency considered an added advantage.
Selected volunteers will be placed under the supervision of the National Youth and Sports Department (JBSN) through the Rakan Muda initiative for duties in customer service, ticketing and entry, guest relations, and MADANI zone management.
