KOTA TINGGI, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Sungai Johor Bridge here is safe for all road users, according to Senai-Desaru Expressway Berhad (SDEB).
In a statement, SDEB said it had taken immediate action by conducting inspections and assessments of the bridge’s structural condition, following the incident of a vessel that drifted close to the bridge around 2.30 pm today.
"The inspection by the technical team found that the structure of bridge is in a safe condition and can be crossed as usual. The involved vessel was also moved at 3.16 pm," according to SDEB.
SDEB said that it always prioritises safety aspects and will continue to monitor the condition of the bridge structure from time to time to ensure the safety of highway users.
"However, users are advised to always adhere to traffic regulations and follow any safety instructions issued from time to time," the statement also said.
Earlier, several videos and pictures depicting the incident went viral on Facebook, claiming that the bridge was unsafe to cross and temporarily closed, causing concern among highway users.
