SHAH ALAM, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Cross-agency cooperation and community participation in the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) X Arena Penggerak Komuniti (JAGO) 2026 demonstrate that efforts to foster patriotism are a shared responsibility regardless of background.
Selangor Information Department (JaPEN) Cyber Media Branch Assistant Director Herlina Ainizawati Zakaria said the collaboration was among the department’s efforts to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and enliven the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations in the state.
“JaPEN will continue to strengthen an inclusive, creative and high-impact communication approach in delivering national messages to the community.
“This effort is in line with the aspiration to build a united people who appreciate history and consistently express pride in being Malaysians,” she said in a statement today.
She said KMJG X JAGO Selangor 2026, an annual event synonymous with JaPEN, continues the tradition of distributing and handing over the Jalur Gemilang from one selected location to another, while expanding programme activities centred on patriotism, unity and love for the country.
She said the programme also serves as an important platform to intensify the One House One Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) campaign, particularly by encouraging the public to regard the Jalur Gemilang as a symbol of national pride and identity that should be displayed throughout National Month.
Three pit-stop locations in the Central Zone were selected for KMJG X JAGO Selangor 2026 today, namely Wisma Persekutuan Klang, the Klang District and Land Office, and AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre in Klang.
KMJG X JAGO Selangor 2026 involved about 50 participants from 10 government agencies and private-sector organisations, including the Klang Selatan District Police Headquarters (IPD), Klang Utara IPD, Klang Royal City Council and the Klang District Civil Defence Force.
