KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- A total of 200 alumni from the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 will participate in the National Day parade in Putrajaya on Aug 31.
National Service Training Council (MLKN) chairman General (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Abdul Aziz Zainal said that the selected trainee participants will begin their practice in Putrajaya tomorrow in preparation for the national-level event.
"For the first time, PLKN 3.0 trainees will march in front of the King, the Prime Minister, Cabinet members, and the public during the National Day celebration.
"The participation is in line with efforts to showcase the PLKN 3.0 trainees to the community, as well as to demonstrate the results of the training they have received as the nation's young heroes," he said to reporters after the PLKN 3.0 Series 3/2026 Trainee Passing Out Parade at the National Service Training Branch (CLKN) at the 515 Territorial Army (AW) Camp here today.
In the same development, Abdul Aziz said today that 795 trainees successfully completed the PLKN 3.0 Series 3/2026 training, which started on July 11, involving three CLKN Camps, namely 106 female trainees from Camp 504 AW, Bukit Keteri, Perlis; 442 male trainees from Camp 505 AW, Pekan, Pahang; and 247 female trainees from Camp 515 AW, Kuala Lumpur.
For this series, the best trainees at Camp 504 AW are An’nur Najiha Muhammad, 18, from Ipoh, Perak; Muhammad Firdaus Muhammad Said, 18, from Kuantan, Pahang (Camp 505 AW); and Cheyenne Alessandra Michael, 18, from Kuala Lumpur (Camp 515 AW).
Meanwhile, Abdul Azi said the number of participants in PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026 will be increased through the addition of CLKN Camps, including the use of the Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (RELA) training centres.
"We will add more trainers and we will use RELA training centres. With the presence of RELA training centres, combined with our existing training centres, we can train more than 1,000 trainees," he said.
Previously, MLKN announced that PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026 will be implemented at five new camps, namely Camp 503 Hutan Melintang, Perak; Camp 506 Sungai Durian, Kelantan; Camp 513 Bukit Pinang, Kedah, as well as two camps involving Public Training Institute (ILA) centres in Sungai Petani, Kedah and Tuaran, Sabah as alternative camps, in addition to the three existing camps.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne Alessandra, when met, said she joined the programme voluntarily due to her interest in becoming a military member, and she considers the experience of undergoing 45 days of training as a catalyst for patriotism.
"I am more enthusiastic, more patriotic because I got to experience it with all the soldiers here. This is also the Wataniah (Territorial Army) military camp. So every day we can see them (the Wataniah soldiers) and it really opened my eyes," she also said.
She added that her experience in the PLKN made her more proud and grateful for the sacrifices of the warriors in achieving the country's independence, in addition to realising the responsibility of the younger generation to maintain peace.
