AOMORI (Japan), Aug 22 (Bernama-Kyodo) -- A male foreign tourist was attacked by a bear near an observation deck overlooking Lake Towada, a popular tourist spot, in the northeastern prefecture of Aomori, Japan, local authorities said Saturday, Kyodo News reported.

The man, whose right arm was bitten by the bear, was airlifted to a hospital but was able to communicate, according to the city of Towada and the local fire department.
