VIENNA, Aug 22 (Bernama-dpa) -- A 19-year-old German climber died after falling about 40 metres in an accident on Austria's Grossglockner mountain, police said, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
The accident happened on Friday afternoon at a climbing area in Kals, in the state of Tyrol, according to police. It was initially unclear what caused the fall.
Just a week earlier, a 36-year-old German hiker died in the Zillertal Alps in Tyrol after losing his balance on a narrow path and falling between 50 and 100 metres over steep, rocky terrain.
A few days earlier, another German hiker died after falling over rock faces in the Venediger mountain range in Tyrol.
Investigators believe the 74-year-old also died in an accident while descending.
