KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB” or “the Bank”) and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (“DBKL”) are pleased to announce Festival Ambang Merdeka 2026: Malaysia MADANI – Kesejahteraan Dinikmati (“Festival Ambang Merdeka”) a three-day festival from 29 to 31 August 2026 at Dataran Merdeka. Expected to welcome more than 100,000 visitors, the celebration aims to bring Malaysians from all walks of life together through music, culture and shared experiences while creating more opportunities for local businesses and communities.
The highlight of the celebration is the Konsert Kita Bagi Jadi @ Ambang Merdeka 2026 segment taking centre stage on 30 August at 10.30pm, with a captivating 90-minute musical leading up to the iconic Merdeka countdown at midnight. Choreographed by renowned creative director Pat Ibrahim with the theme “Menyusuri Sejarah, Memperkasa Semangat”, the musical features eight celebrated Malaysian artistes including Aina Abdul, Aman RA, Nadia Aqilah, Asmidar, Haziq Rosebi, Mimifly, Izen Kong and Pasya, accompanied by 70 dancers and a 60- member Orkestra Kuala Lumpur. Audiences will also be treated to the debut of three original songs, alongside powerful performances by some of Malaysia's finest musicians, dancers and creative talents.
