MELAKA, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 30 buses and 90 shuttle vans will be provided for visitors to the Melaka Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Carnival 2026 and the 69th National Day celebrations at Dataran 1Malaysia Klebang from Aug 29 to 31.
State Health, Human Resources and Unity Committee chairman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem said the free shuttle service would operate from 13 pick-up points around Klebang and nearby areas.
The pick-up points are The Sail Gallery, Residensi PR1MA, Submarine Museum, Dataran 1Malaysia Klebang, Royal Malaysian Navy Ship Exhibition venue, SMK Klebang Besar and Masjid Al-Amin.
They also include Hotel Courtyard, Kota Bendahari commercial area, the roadside near Eye On Melaka, Taman Limbongan Jaya Business Complex, Taman Syahbandar Business Complex and Taman Kota Laksamana Business Complex.
He said the service would operate from 6 pm to midnight on Aug 29, from 6 pm to 1 am for the National Day eve celebrations, and from 4 am to 7 am and noon to 3 pm on Aug 31.
“The service is provided not only to facilitate visitor movement throughout the three-day programme, but also to ensure smooth traffic flow and the smooth running of the events,” he told reporters at MelakaFM here today.
Ngwe said between 50,000 and 80,000 people are expected to attend the state-level National Day celebrations on Aug 31, involving 125 contingents and 7,790 participants, while 31 vehicles, including 11 decorated cars, will take part in the parade.
