KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The National Farmers’ Organisation (NAFAS) has fully completed the supply of 8,275 metric tonnes of urea fertiliser for the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) area, ahead of schedule.

In a statement today, NAFAS said the supply, equivalent to 413,750 bags of urea fertiliser, was carried out through its subsidiary, Malaysian NPK Fertilizer Sdn Bhd (MNFSB), and delivered to designated stockists, namely Area Farmers Organisations (PPK).

“The supply was fully completed on July 31, 2026, just 23 days after the Letter of Acceptance (SST) was issued on July 1.

“This supply was also completed earlier than the expected full delivery date of Aug 7, 2026 for urea fertiliser for the MADA area,” it said.

NAFAS said the total requirement for Padi Compound Fertiliser 1 was 22,117.46 metric tonnes, with the entire requirement fulfilled through deliveries to the designated stockists.

It said the supply of Padi Compound Fertiliser 3 is not managed or carried out by NAFAS or MNFSB. Therefore, any issues or delays related to its supply do not fall under the scope of the contract or the responsibility of either party.

“This clarification is made to provide an accurate picture of the scope of the contract and NAFAS's responsibilities through MNFSB, thereby avoiding any confusion regarding NAFAS's involvement in the supply of agricultural inputs in the MADA area,” it added.

NAFAS also acknowledged that the smooth supply of agricultural inputs is directly linked to planting activities, productivity and the welfare of padi farmers. The NAFAS Group is ready to continue being a solutions partner to the government in addressing issues and concerns faced by farmers.

“The commitment is in line with NAFAS's role in supporting the national food security agenda, besides ensuring that the interests and welfare of farmers and padi planters continue to receive attention,” the statement read.

NAFAS will also continue to collaborate with the government, MADA and related agencies to ensure the agricultural input supply chain is implemented optimally for the benefit of padi farmers and the sustainability of the national padi sector.
