SHAH ALAM, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- A Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) worker died after her headscarf was believed to have become entangled in a sluice gate roller at the Grand Sabak Hotel Water Gate in Sabak Bernam this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received a call about the incident at 3.35 pm, after which a team from the Sabak Bernam Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the team found the 56-year-old victim lying on the sluice gate.
“Initial investigations found that the victim’s headscarf had become entangled in the gate roller. She was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel and the body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.
