BANGI, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) prioritises political stability and the people's interests when considering any form of political cooperation with other parties or coalitions, said PH Presidential Council member Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The PKR vice-president said PH remained open to establishing cooperation or reaching an understanding with any party or coalition that upheld these two principles.

“Cooperation with any party,  not just Bersatu or Perikatan Nasional (PN), can be considered, provided the underlying principles remain political stability and the well-being of the people,” he said.

Speaking to reporters after officiating the Ecology International Conference II (HEIC-II) 2026 here today, the Selangor Menteri Besar also denied that Selangor PH had entered into any cooperation with Bersatu, stressing that no discussions or decisions involving the party had taken place.

Amirudin said any potential cooperation must be evaluated rationally at the central level, taking into consideration factors such as the timing of elections and other relevant circumstances.

“Of course, I cannot decide on my own, as I also share responsibility with the central leadership.

“So, if there are discussions (at the Selangor PH level), I will bring the matter to the central leadership. What exists currently are merely external ideas or views, which may stem from political realignments at the national level or in the context of a state election,” he said.

Last Friday, media reports indicated that Selangor PH appeared open to the possibility of collaborating with Bersatu, particularly at the state level.

The alignment is believed to be aimed at ensuring both parties remain relevant and strong ahead of upcoming elections, including the general election (GE) and the Melaka state election.
