KOTA BHARU, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 2,000 units of disposable vape devices worth RM160,000 on the banks of Sungai Golok, under Pulau Ular Bridge, Tumpat, yesterday.
GOF Southeast Brigade commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the seizure was made when a motorcycle patrol team spotted several men unloading boxes in the area.
He said the team members then approached the suspects, but they fled to a neighbouring country by boat.
"From an inspection of several abandoned boxes, GOF found 2,000 units of disposable vape devices estimated to be worth RM160,000.
"The case has been referred to the Tumpat District Health Office for further action. All items were seized and the case is being investigated under Section 10 of the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024 (Act 852)," he said in a statement today.
