KOTA BHARU, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Veteran actor Kamarool Yusoff, affectionately known as Cik Man, died today at the age of 68.
News of his passing was shared on Facebook by comedian Mohammad Amirullah Azmi, better known as Amir Raja Lawak, who also extended his condolences to the actor’s family.
“Kamarool Haji Yusoff, also known as Farok and Cik Man, has just left us.
“May Allah grant Abang Kamarool a place among the faithful and the righteous in Jannah, Al-Fatihah,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Kamarool’s son, Ahmad Fakhrol Aliff, 23, when contacted, confirmed the news, saying that his father breathed his last at 5.30 pm while receiving treatment for a heart ailment at Tanah Merah Hospital.
He said the funeral will take place tomorrow morning, but the location had yet to be ascertained.
Kamarool, whose real name is Kamarozaman Yusoff, rose to prominence for his memorable villainous role as the leader of the Gagak Hitam gang in the popular 1986 Malaysian classic Gila-Gila Remaja.
He also appeared in the 2010 comedy Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah, directed by the late Mamat Khalid, as well as several other films.
