TalentCorp Launches Largest Win Cohort To Develop Future Women Leaders

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 500 young women have been selected to join the Women-Industry Network (WIN) programme cohort under the Wanita MyWira initiative by Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), in an effort to nurture more women leaders and increase female participation in the workforce.

In a statement today, TalentCorp said the 500 participants were selected from more than 700 applicants, making it the largest WIN cohort since the programme was introduced in 2021.

The agency said the five-week mentoring programme brings together final-year university students and graduates from more than 50 universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, vocational colleges, as well as young professionals from across the country.

Throughout the programme, participants will be guided by 61 mentors comprising experienced leaders and professionals from various industries, providing career exposure, practical guidance and access to valuable professional networks.

Meanwhile, TalentCorp Group chief executive officer Biruntha Mooruthi said empowering women to advance in their careers is crucial to strengthening the country’s talent pool and long-term economic competitiveness.

“Malaysia will not be able to fully realise its talent potential if women continue to face barriers in advancing their careers and accessing leadership opportunities.

“Through WIN, we connect young talents with experienced industry leaders who can provide mentorship, encouragement and practical insights to help more women build meaningful, sustainable and competitive careers,” she said in the statement.

She said as a strategic think tank under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), TalentCorp is committed to translating national workforce priorities into practical initiatives that impact Malaysia’s talent development.

She said the programme also supports the MADANI government’s aspiration to raise the Female Labour Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) to 60 per cent by 2030 under the MADANI Economy framework, by strengthening women’s career readiness and leadership capabilities.

TalentCorp added that it will continue to strengthen the WIN alumni network, expand collaboration with industry players, and explore more follow-up programmes, including industry visits, women’s networking sessions and exposure to high-growth sectors.

The 12th Wanita MyWira WIN Cohort 2026 convocation ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 27.
