French Trade Minister To Visit Malaysia To Boost Economic Ties
KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Nicolas Forissier will visit Malaysia on Wednesday to deepen bilateral cooperation and create new opportunities for French businesses.
The French Embassy in Malaysia said the visit reflects France's commitment to bolster its economic ties with Malaysia, a key player in Southeast Asia and a strategic partner in sectors that are essential to the sovereignty and resilience of both economies.
In Kuala Lumpur, the minister will hold meetings with several members of the Malaysian government, including the ministers responsible for Investment, Trade, and Industry; Science, Technology and Innovation; Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability; and Energy Transition and Water Transformation, the embassy said in a statement Tuesday.
According to the mission, Forissier will also take part in Innovation Day during his visit and engage with Malaysian business leaders to promote France as an investment destination and opportunities for future investments.
“In addition, he will meet with the delegation of French companies accompanying him, organised by Business France, as well as representatives of major French companies established in Malaysia, with a view to supporting their growth and fostering new economic partnerships,” it said.
The mission added that the visit will further establish France's economic presence in Malaysia and consolidate a forward-looking partnership focused on innovation, the energy transition, and strategic industries.
