TH, Sadaqa House Bank Islam Launch RM1 Mln DAYA INSANI Programme For Asnaf Youth
KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), through Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad’s (Bank Islam) social finance initiative Sadaqa House, has launched the Asnaf Youth Development Programme for Inclusive and Sustainable Empowerment (DAYA INSANI) with an initial fund of RM1 million.
In a joint statement today, TH and Bank Islam said the programme aims to empower asnaf youth and orphans through specialised skills training and quality job placements with identified strategic industry partners.
“In line with the MADANI Talent aspiration, the programme reflects the shared commitment of TH and Bank Islam in developing human capital in an inclusive manner, particularly for those who require support to improve their social and economic mobility.
“The DAYA INSANI programme integrates skills development, industry exposure and job placement to produce competitive, skilled individuals capable of sustainably contributing to national development,” the statement said.
On Monday, TH channelled the fund to Sadaqa House in conjunction with the launch of the MADANI Talent initiative by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan, to implement the programme, which is expected to benefit more than 100 asnaf youth and orphans.
According to the statement, contributions to the DAYA INSANI fund are now open to corporate companies, institutions and individuals to support the development of asnaf youth and orphans.
“The fund will be mobilised by Sadaqa House in collaboration with strategic industry and education partners, including the Kulim Hi-Tech Park Skills Centre (KHTP) to produce highly skilled technical workers.
“It will also involve Kolej Universiti Bestari (UCB) and Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI Healthcare) to train professional nurses, the Malaysian Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC) to produce certified accountants, and Showme Education to train professional therapists,” it said.
The programme will strengthen existing talent development initiatives, including the Diploma in Nursing programme with UCB and KMI Healthcare, which began in 2024 with 19 students currently pursuing their studies, while one graduate has successfully entered the workforce.
“In addition, the first technical training cohort at KHTP involving 13 participants began training in June, with a target to increase participation to 100 in the near term.
“TH’s efforts to develop future talents are further strengthened through strategic collaborations with the Malaysian Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC) and INCEIF University to produce global-class certified accountants and professionals in Islamic finance and banking who are ethical, competent and competitive,” it said.
Meanwhile, TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mustakim Mohamad said DAYA INSANI reflects the agency’s continued commitment to empowering human capital development, particularly among asnaf youth and orphans.
“TH believes that the best investment for the future of the ummah is investment in human capital development. Through this programme, we are committed to providing access to training, industry exposure and employment opportunities that can transform their future,” he said.
He said the initiative is also in line with TH’s commitment in supporting the country’s talent development agenda through strategic collaborations between Islamic financial institutions, the corporate sector and industry players.
Bank Islam Group Chief Executive Officer Raja Datin Paduka Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz said the programme demonstrates the bank’s commitment to empowering young talents through a social finance approach that delivers direct impact to community well-being.
“We believe every individual has the potential to succeed when given the right access and support. Through DAYA INSANI, we hope more asnaf youth and orphans will be able to build a brighter future and achieve their full potential,” she said.
