KULAI, June 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to hit the campaign trail in Johor, with a grand finale Pakatan Harapan (PH) programme scheduled for July 9, just two days before Johoreans head to the polls.

PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed the news, saying the Prime Minister will be lending his weight to the PH campaign.

"Yes, the PM will be coming down," he said after a walkabout with PH candidates contesting seven state seats.

The candidates were Arthur Chiong Sen Sern (Bukit Batu), Mohd Syafwan Ani (Bukit Permai), Wong Bor Yang (Senai), Yeo Tung Siong (Pekan Nanas), Haniff @ Ghazali Hosman (Pulai Sebatang), Guna Balakrishnan (Layang-Layang) and Nor Hafiz Roslan (Machap).

"It depends on how happy he is with our performance. If he's satisfied with me, Amir (PKR vice-president), and the machinery, he might not come often. But if he's here frequently, that means we have problems," Saifuddin joked when pressed on how often Anwar would show up.

The PH grand finale on July 9 will also see all component party presidents in attendance, Saifuddin revealed.

"We'll announce more details later. All the presidents will be there," he said, adding that the Prime Minister's schedule would be confirmed closer to the date.

"For now, our focus is on the campaign," he said.
