BANGI, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's vocal stance in championing Malaysia's position for the liberation of Palestine reflects the nation's steadfast commitment to establishing an independent Palestinian state, said Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

He stated that Anwar is among the world leaders who are most outspoken and uncompromising in expressing Malaysia's stance regarding the need to liberate Palestine.

"The Prime Minister's presence tonight sends a very clear signal that this is not merely political rhetoric, nor just what is discussed at diplomatic tables, but is actually driven through support, patronage, and mass movements like the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF).

"We (the government) also hope that (if there are) any plans on the part of Sumud Nusantara and GSF, we are ready to help," he told reporters after attending the Sumud Nusantara Dinner in conjunction with the 2026 World Sumud Congress here today.

Also present were Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Malaysian Islamic Consultative Council (MAPIM) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, and Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) CEO Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.

Fahmi also congratulated Ahmad Sani Araby for steering and organising various initiatives that he described as significant.

As a token of appreciation, he said the Ministry of Communications will collaborate with the Global Sumud Movement to produce a television mini-series related to the 'Sumud Protocol' to be broadcast to the general public.

Fahmi also stated that he, along with several other ministers, will continue to support the efforts of Sumud Nusantara and GSF, including providing assistance in terms of social media.

"We are ready to help. Including if we look at it from the perspective of social media, so this is among several things that the Ministry of Communications itself will assist with," he said.
