MELAKA, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- The temporary closure of all educational institutions under the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Melaka will continue tomorrow as a precautionary measure amid unhealthy air quality.
In a statement, the Melaka State Education Department (JPN) said home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) would be implemented throughout the closure period in accordance with MOE guidelines.
Teachers and members of the implementing group (AKP) would also be allowed to work from home (WFH) during the period.
However, the Special School Admission Assessment (PKSK) and the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examination would proceed as scheduled.
Further information and instructions regarding the assessment and examination are available on the official Melaka JPN Facebook page.
JPN also advised all educational institutions under its supervision to monitor API readings in their respective districts through the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal and comply with recommendations issued by the Health Ministry from time to time.
The department said the measure was necessary to safeguard the health, safety and well-being of students and educational institution personnel.
