PUTRAJAYA, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, is confident that civil servants are ready to shoulder their duties and responsibilities to ensure the swift and effective implementation of government policies, including Budget 2027.

He said the commitment of all civil servants was crucial to ensuring that the people could share the benefits of economic growth.

"For all civil servants, I am confident that we are always ready to shoulder these trusts and responsibilities as a National Covenant and continue to support government policies through swift and effective implementation, to ensure that the extraordinary benefits of economic growth can be felt by all,” he said in a statement today.

Shamsul Azri also expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, for tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Themed "Reaching for the Skies, While Anchored on Our Values", the budget allocates RM459.8 billion, comprising RM376.8 billion for operating expenditure and RM83 billion for development expenditure, based on eight key priorities.

The measures announced included raising the minimum wage to RM2,000, various tax incentives and exemptions, as well as subsidies, assistance and incentives totalling RM80 billion.

The budget also provides for Special Financial Assistance of RM1,500 for civil servants and RM750 for government retirees.

Shamsul Azri said Budget 2027 reflected the government’s commitment to continuing to prioritise the welfare of the people while balancing national development, economic sustainability and fiscal resilience.
