MELAKA, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) will introduce the 'Melaka Rumah Kita' (Melaka Is Our Home) concept as its offer to the people in the upcoming Melaka State Election, with its manifesto and future agenda for the state also to be unveiled.

PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the concept would highlight the coalition's aspirations for the future of Melaka, the livelihood of its people and the direction it aims to take the state if given the mandate.

He said 'Melaka Rumah Kita' would be built in stages, beginning with the opening of the PH main operations centre today, which he described as the 'first pillar' of a larger structure to be introduced throughout the election period.

"What is Melaka Rumah Kita? Later, throughout the lead-up to the campaign and polling day, I will present our manifesto and vision regarding the future of Melaka, the lives of the people of Melaka, and what we envision for Melaka in the future," he said when officiating the Melaka PH Main Operations Centre here today.

Amirudin said PH would conduct a positive campaign for the Melaka State Election by highlighting its offers and ideas for the people to evaluate, rather than relying solely on political rhetoric.

According to him, PH had prior experience administering the state, including under the leadership of Adly Zahari, who served as Melaka Chief Minister in 2018.

"This is the foundation we are building. Melaka is our home and its cornerstone was laid long ago. Our friends in DAP already have a base in the Kota Melaka area, Ayer Keroh and the relevant state constituencies.

"Insya-Allah, we can reclaim our traditional seats. Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has traditional seats that we have won before. The same goes for Amanah. So, we come to Melaka not just offering unrealistic ideas. We have experience," he said.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 14 as polling day for the 16th Melaka State Election, with nomination day on Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.

The 2021 Melaka State Election saw Barisan Nasional (BN) win 21 of the 28 seats contested to form the state government, while PH won five seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) two.
