KANGAR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) has achieved a significant milestone in its revenue-generation agenda by securing 24 consultancy projects worth RM1,489,115 nearly 15 times the initial target of RM100,000.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is the chancellor of UniSIRAJ, said this achievement demonstrates the high effectiveness of the university's revenue-generation strategy through consultancy services, while also highlighting the demand for the expertise and competence of UniSIRAJ’s personnel.
"This achievement not only contributes to strengthening the university's financial position but also enhances the visibility of UniSIRAJ's expertise, strategic networks, and reputation as an institution capable of offering knowledge- and expertise-based solutions to external parties," said the Raja Muda of Perlis.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra made these remarks after attending a dinner hosted by the Deputy Governor of the Samarkand Region, Kobilov Rustam Rajabboyevich, in Uzbekistan, as announced in a statement by the Istana Arau today.
Also present were the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, and their daughter, Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail.
Also in attendance was the Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rafedah Abdul Aziz.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra said the successful securing of these 24 consultancy projects demonstrates the capability of UniSIRAJ, an entity owned by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Custom Council (MAIPs to build networks with various parties, particularly from the corporate and industrial sectors as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
His Royal Highness noted that clients engaging UniSIRAJ’s expertise include Tavekun Manufacturing, the MAIPs Asnaf Transformation Academy (ATAM), and Ihsan Care Berhad, thereby illustrating that the expertise possessed by the university's personnel holds value and is in demand across various sectors.
“Consultancy services serve not only as a medium for the transfer of knowledge and expertise but have also evolved into a significant potential revenue-generating source for UniSIRAJ.
“At the same time, the involvement of academic staff in these projects allows their expertise to be applied directly to address the actual needs of organizations, industries, and the community,” said the Raja Muda of Perlis.
His Royal Highness also emphasised that this potential must be further strengthened through the systematic mapping of staff expertise, the development of structured consultancy packages, and the expansion of strategic networks with the corporate sector, industries, government agencies, and NGOs.
The Raja Muda of Perlis said this is crucial to ensure consultancy services evolve into an ecosystem that not only contributes to revenue generation but also reinforces knowledge transfer, innovation, and the university's engagement with the community and industry.
In a related development, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra also viewed the Registan Sound & Light Show at Registan Square, one of the most iconic historical landmarks in Samarkand.
Registan Square is a historical complex renowned for its three main madrasas, Ulugh Beg, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori surrounding a public square that symbolises the glory of Islamic civilization in Central Asia.
Istana Arau noted that the complex developed into a hub for knowledge, education, religion, and public life in Samarkand, particularly during the reign of the Timurid Dynasty.
"The architecture of the madrasas, adorned with blue tiles, mosaics, and geometric carvings, also makes Registan one of the most important examples of Islamic architectural heritage in the region," according to the Istana Arau.
