KANGAR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) continues to strengthen academic excellence through systematic programme quality management and assurance in line with the needs of the country’s higher education sector.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said UniSIRAJ, which operates under the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), currently offers 31 academic programmes at various levels, comprising three Doctor of Philosophy programmes, three Master’s, 16 Bachelor’s degrees, seven Diploma and two Foundation programmes.
His Royal Highness, who is also UniSIRAJ Chancellor, said 26 of the programmes have obtained Full Accreditation (FA), while the remaining five have Provisional Accreditation (PA) status.
“This achievement means that all 31 of UniSIRAJ’s academic programmes have accreditation status, either FA or PA, reflecting the university’s commitment to ensuring that every programme meets the prescribed quality assurance standards and requirements,” he said.
The Raja Muda said this after witnessing the symbolic presentation of an Ibnu Sabil MAIPs contribution to the Embassy of Malaysia in Uzbekistan upon his arrival at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport last Friday, according to a statement issued by Istana Arau today.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra was accompanied by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their second daughter, Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail.
The Raja Muda of Perlis said UniSIRAJ would continue to prioritise maintaining Full Accreditation status for its 26 existing programmes while strengthening the five programmes with Provisional Accreditation status to achieve Full Accreditation.
“These efforts must also be supported by continuous improvements to ensure that the academic programmes remain relevant to current developments and responsive to the needs of the industry and stakeholders,” he said.
Meanwhile, Istana Arau said the Raja Muda of Perlis was in Uzbekistan to officiate the 10th International Seminar on Nabawi Heritage (SWAN), organised by the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies (FPQS), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), in collaboration with UniSIRAJ.
The seminar will be held on Oct 6 and 7 at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Centre in Samarkand, themed ‘The Prophetic Legacy in Leading through the Era of Global Instability’.
