KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- "TOKYO MANGA BASE" is holding international online sales and a pop-up event featuring a curated selection of manga art products showcasing original manga illustrations and full-colour artwork.
The TOKYO MANGA BASE Shogakukan Manga Art Collection pop-up event is being held from Sept 20 to 29 at Ginza Atrium inside Ginza Tsutaya Books in Tokyo.
The lineup includes fine art reproductions of original manga artwork from titles such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and BANANA FISH, as well as Metal Canvas Art.
According to a statement, the fine art reproductions and Metal Canvas Art were previously available exclusively on a made-to-order basis through Shogakukan’s official e-commerce site, LIFETUNES MALL.
The event features more than 100 manga art products for a limited time, including T-shirts, acrylic blocks and other items featuring artwork from popular Shogakukan manga titles.
One of the highlights is a fine art reproduction of the special illustration “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End × Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring”, created in conjunction with the Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Masterpieces of the 17th Century exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka.
As a new initiative, selected products displayed at the event are also available through the TOKYO MANGA BASE international online store, with online sales running until Oct 19. Fine art reproductions of original manga artwork are also available to international customers through TOKYO MANGA BASE for the first time.
The international online store is currently available in 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
TOKYO MANGA BASE is a retail business offering original merchandise centred on officially licensed manga properties. It operates pop-up shops in Japan and overseas, as well as an international online store for customers outside Japan.
