KUCHING, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has implemented 2,403 Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) events across Sarawak between Jan 1 and Aug 31 this year.
Its minister, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said that the implementation of the PJRM in Sarawak has continued to increase year by year.
“For the record, 736 PJRM series were held in Sarawak in 2023 and 1,148 in 2024. In 2025, the figure reached 2,584 series.
“This increase in implementation is driven by the encouraging response from the public as well as improvements made from year to year,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Armizan noted that starting in 2024, PJRM was institutionalised as a permanent government programme, with a specific allocation set aside under the 'Payung Rahmah' initiative in the annual budget.
He also said that the frequency of implementation is set at a minimum of three times a month across 600 State Legislative Assembly constituencies nationwide, including 40 zones in the Federal Territories.
“At the same time, opportunities for the involvement of companies, businesses, and cooperatives within the retail subsector in the PJRM implementation continue to be expanded.
“Public access to the PJRM has also been enhanced through three implementation methods -- on-site, off-site and mobile PJRM -- in addition to the organisation of themed PJRM events covering festive seasons, school holidays and more,” he added.
