KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- Klang community leader and businessman Tan Sri Jason Goh has been appointed president of the Selangor Justices of the Peace Council for a two-year term, effective today.
The appointment of Goh, 65, was made by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. Goh succeeds Datuk Ng Seing Liong, who has completed his term.
Goh, a philanthropist and corporate leader, said he was deeply honoured by the appointment and expressed his gratitude to the Sultan for the trust and confidence placed in him.
He also expressed hope to contribute his expertise and experience to strengthen the council, particularly in fostering unity among the people.
“The Selangor Justices of the Peace Council is a prestigious body and is held in high regard by Commonwealth countries. I hope to fulfil my responsibilities with the support of Tuanku as well as members of the council,” he said.
Goh said the council has a strong historical background and has played an active role in local judicial and administrative matters, as well as community and welfare activities.
