KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his congratulations to Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, on being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Johor Super Crown Polo Tournament (JSCPT) 2026.
In a Facebook post tonight, he said Tunku Mahkota Ismail’s outstanding performance, leadership and fighting spirit highlighted His Royal Highness’ excellence as a sporting champion who is a source of pride not only to the people of Johor but also to all Malaysians.
“Congratulations to His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, on being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Johor Super Crown Polo Tournament 2026, while also leading Royal Johor to lift this prestigious title,” he said.
Tunku Mahkota Ismail was named the MVP of JSCPT 2026 yesterday after delivering an outstanding performance throughout the prestigious tournament.
The MVP accolade capped Tunku Mahkota Ismail’s impressive performance as he led Royal Johor to a 10-7 victory over Temasek in the final, contributing six of his team’s 10 goals.
The 22-goal handicap tournament, held from Sept 1 to 6, was the highest-handicap polo competition organised in Malaysia to date.
The tournament was driven by a shared vision between Tunku Mahkota Ismail and Polito Pieres to position Johor as one of the leading destinations on the international polo circuit.
