SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Police have confirmed the discovery of the decomposed body of a man in an overgrown area near Jalan Persiaran Balairong U8, Bukit Jelutong, here today.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Sarudin Samah said police received a public report at about 2.45 pm and sent a team to the scene to investigate.

He said police were unable to identify the deceased as no identification documents were found at the scene.

“An examination of the deceased’s body could not be carried out due to its condition. Based on the state of the body, the deceased is believed to have died more than a week ago,” he said in a statement today.

Sarudin said the body had been sent to the Forensic Medicine Department at Al-Sultan Abdullah Hospital, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam, for a post-mortem examination scheduled for 2 pm tomorrow.

Sarudin said the case has been classified as a sudden death and urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Inspector Mohd Fildza Che Ibrahim at 016-953 7372 to assist with the investigation.
