KOTA KINABALU, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor today received a courtesy call from the Head of the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) in Tawau, Dino Nurwahyudin, at Menara Kinabalu here.
The Chief Minister’s Office, in a media statement, informed that Dino’s visit was to officially introduce himself as the consul in Tawau since July 9.
"The meeting also discussed Dino's targets and proposals throughout his tenure in Sabah. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and identify areas that can be explored to strengthen cooperation between Sabah and Indonesia," it stated.
Meanwhile, Dino said that relations between Indonesia and Sabah are very close and have been established for a long time.
"We also hope for more direct flights connecting Indonesia and Sabah to facilitate the integration of the people of both regions," he said.
Dino has extensive experience in the diplomatic service, including having served as Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur and holding various positions in the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian diplomatic missions abroad.
Dino also previously served at KRI Tawau in the Information, Social, and Cultural sector from 2024 to 2025, before being appointed as the Head of the KRI Tawau Representative Office.
