IPOH, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- All power generation units at the Sungai Perak Power Stations (SSJ) in Temenggor and Bersia are in good condition and operating normally despite tremors felt early this morning.
Perak Infrastructure, Energy, Water, and Public Transport Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said the SSJ Sungai Perak management instructed its security team and the station civil division to inspect the dams and the premises.
He said the inspections ensured both dams and stations were unaffected by the tremors.
"Initial reports confirm that all our generation units in Temenggor and Bersia are in good condition, unaffected by the tremors, and operating as normal," he said in a statement tonight.
A minor earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Temenggor, Gerik, at midnight and was felt by residents in several nearby areas, including Kampung Bagan Baru, Kampung Jong, and Kampung Jagor.
