PUTRAJAYA, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Agrobank is expected to sign several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with strategic agencies to strengthen collaboration in entrepreneur development, access to financing and markets in conjunction with the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026.

Agrobank group president and chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said the collaboration would open up more opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and support the growth of the country's agriculture and agri-food sectors.

He said Agrobank's participation as the title sponsor of MAHA 2026 would enable the institution to strengthen access to financing and financial advisory services for agri-entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"MAHA 2026 provides a space for farmers, entrepreneurs and industry players to obtain information related to financing, financial management and digital facilities according to their respective business needs.

"They can also obtain information on financing, financial management and digital facilities that are appropriate based on the scale and stage of development of their respective businesses," he said in a statement today.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah said Agrobank would offer financing facilities of between RM1,000 and RM100,000 through the Agrobank x FAMA Farmer Entrepreneur Scheme (MAHA 2026 Special Edition) as well as providing advisory services on halal certification, entrepreneurship training and Shariah-compliant financing.

At the same time, he said financing facilities for gig economy workers would be highlighted through AgroGig@MAHA 2026 while advisory services regarding account opening assistance and information on the Padi Crop Takaful Scheme (STTP) would be provided to farmers who did not yet have an Agrobank account.

MAHA 2026 will be held at the Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) from August 28 to September 6.
