LUSAKA (Zambia), Aug 16 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The death toll from a ferry accident on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe rose to 68 on Saturday, according to police, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
"The Zimbabwe Republic Police advises Zimbabweans and relevant stakeholders that the death toll in the Kariba boat accident is now 68 following the recovery of 22 bodies on Aug 15," it said.
The vessel, built to carry 90 passengers and five crew, capsized Tuesday in strong winds.
Authorities said the boat was overladen with more than 120 passengers, 12 of whom were children, while 77 were rescued.
