KOTA KINABALU, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The bodies of three police personnel who died in an electrocution incident in Beaufort yesterday were flown to their respective hometowns tonight aboard Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) Air Operations Force (PGU) aircraft.

Bernama observed the RMAF aircraft carrying the bodies of Corporal Mohamad Nur Hafiz Ibrahim and Constable Muhammad Raimi Ismarubee departed from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) here at 7.10 pm.

The aircraft was scheduled to fly to the RMAF Air Base in Kuantan before continuing to the RMAF Air Base in Gong Kedak, Terengganu.

The body of Corporal Chiu Teck Siong was taken to the RMP PGU base here before being flown to Sarawak aboard a police aircraft.

Earlier, all three bodies underwent post-mortem examinations at noon before being released from the Forensics Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital at about 2.56 pm for repatriation to their respective hometowns.

Chiu, 40, from Sarawak, Mohamad Nur Hafiz, 29, from Kelantan and Muhammad Raimi, 26, from Terengganu, are believed to have been electrocuted in an incident outside the Weston Police Station in Beaufort at 5.50 pm yesterday.
