KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Sunway Construction Group Bhd’s (SunCon) share price soared 4.38 per cent on Wednesday morning after it recently secured a data centre development in Johor worth RM1.02 billion.
The company’s unit, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SCSB), has accepted a letter of award from a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the United States for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out works for the development.
At 10.31 am, the counter climbed 35 sen to RM8.35, with 1.34 million shares traded.
CGS International said its year-to-date August 2026 wins are RM5.3 billion, bringing its orderbook to RM9.9 billion.
“In our view, SunCon should surpass its RM6 billion order win target by the third quarter of 2026 (3Q 2026). Our financial year 2026 (FY2026) forecast new win target is RM8 billion,” it said in a note.
CGS International also expects the 2Q 2026 results to be on track to help achieve its FY2026 forecast core net profit of RM440 million.
Hence, it kept an “Add” call on the company as it believes SunCon is the strongest data centre proxy in Malaysia.
