Bentong Falling Tree Incident: Injured Five-year-old Boy Transferred To Temerloh Hospital

BENTONG, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- A five-year-old boy who was reportedly injured after the four-wheel drive vehicle carrying his family was crushed by a tree along the old Kuala Lumpur-Bentong road this afternoon has been transferred to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh for further examination.

Bernama understands that the boy will undergo further medical checks following injuries sustained in the incident, which claimed the lives of four other family members.

Bentong District Police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar had earlier confirmed that the boy, who was seated at the back of the vehicle, was injured and sent to Bentong Hospital for treatment.

Those killed were a 35-year-old male driver, a 36-year-old woman and a five-year-old child seated in the front passenger seat, and another 40-year-old man seated at the rear of the vehicle.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, who is also Pahang UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, later confirmed that the four victims were Maran UMNO Division Youth chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, his wife, child and brother-in-law.
