KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Women entrepreneurs nationwide are encouraged to take advantage of courses offered at National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) to develop skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital marketing, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said.
She noted that AI has become an essential tool that can significantly improve business efficiency and help local entrepreneurs expand their market reach.
To support this, she said, the Communications Ministry, through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), offers a range of AI-focused training programmes at NADI centres nationwide in collaboration with strategic partners.
“We work with strategic partners to offer courses tailored to the needs and interests of specific communities.
“So, I really encourage everyone to visit their nearest NADI centre to learn about the courses available,” she told reporters after attending the Media and Charity Night 2026, organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce Women Entrepreneurs Committee (MCCC-WEC) in Ampang today.
Teo said NADI’s training modules extend beyond AI to include digital entrepreneurship (e-entrepreneur), digital marketing strategies and other business-related skills.
She reaffirmed the MADANI Government’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs through initiatives aimed at increasing female participation in business and fostering a more equitable society.
Among these initiatives is the Women Entrepreneurs Economic Fund (DEWI), a RM3 billion financing facility provided by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP).
Teo said such initiatives are expected to boost women's participation in the economy and contribute to more inclusive national development.
On the MCCC-WEC programme, she said her attendance reflected the government’s support for women entrepreneurs, whose growing role in business is vital to the country's economic development.
The event also saw the appointment of representatives from 13 states to strengthen the national network of women entrepreneurs, as well as the signing of six memoranda of understanding with strategic partners to advance women's entrepreneurship through digital transformation, AI adoption and skills training.
