KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) has introduced two new programmes under Dana Kebolehpasaran, namely the Inkubator Lestari Muzik (ILMU) and Muzik Mikro, to provide financial support to new talents and local artistes.
The initiative through the Dana Kandungan Kreatif (DKK) Industri Muzik 2026 utilises the RM2.5 million allocation received by MyCreative earlier this year to support various segments of the country's creative industry development.
MyCreative Ventures assistant vice-president (Industry Development) Muhammad Nadzmi Musa said that ILMU was established to guide and highlight local artistes with great talent who face constraints in showcasing their work.
He said it was specifically designed to explore the potential of new talents who do not rely on social media popularity and require financial support to develop.
"Previously, we held many talent search competitions, and this time we are establishing this fund to explore those who are truly talented," he said as a guest today on the Bernama Radio programme “Fokus 30: Dana Kandungan Kreatif Industri Muzik"
Muhammad Nadzmi said that the Muzik Mikro programme was introduced to meet the demand of local artistes who are now more interested in producing songs as singles and music videos rather than full albums.
Commenting on DKK's achievements since being managed by MyCreative in 2022, he said that RM45 million had been allocated by the government and distributed to 259 fund recipients nationwide, successfully generating 11,400 job opportunities.
"Our support is based on merit, regardless of whether someone is famous or not. We have no discrimination where we also support grassroots music and we look at the potential that exists, everyone is entitled to apply," he said.
In addition to DKK, MyCreative also offers the Skim Dana Padanan (SDP) involving an allocation of RM2.5 million and is open to 10 pillars of the creative industry such as performing arts, culinary arts and visual arts, as well as the Concerts and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI) which encourages the organisation of local and international concerts.
"For example, for the CEMI incentive last year, we recorded an economic spillover of RM39.48 million just through the production of eight concerts. We hope that this continuous support can further boost the contribution of the creative industry to the country's gross domestic product (GDP)," he also said.
