JOHOR BAHRU, July 19 (Bernama) -- The reshuffling of the Johor State Executive Council (Exco) members is part of the process of ensuring continuity and refreshing the administration.
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, however, said the move in no way erased the contributions made by the previous leadership team.
He said changes in the positions within the Exco lineup are a normal part of efforts to steer the state towards greater progress for the prosperity of Bangsa Johor.
“The responsibility entrusted for Johor does not end with a particular position. I believe that experience, wisdom and passion for service will continue to be strengths in our collective efforts to bring Johor to a better level,” he said in a Facebook post.
As such, he expressed his highest appreciation to the four former Exco members for the 2022-2026 term - Datuk Zahari Sarip, K. Raven Kumar, Aznan Tamin and Khairin-Nisa Ismail - for all the sacrifices, time, energy and ideas they poured into carrying out their responsibilities.
Onn Hafiz said every achievement attained by the state government during that period was also built on their contributions, commitment and hard work.
“All services and contributions given to the state and Bangsa Johor will always be remembered and appreciated,” he said.
He also expressed pride in the teamwork demonstrated by the leadership team in facing various challenges and ensuring that the development agenda and people’s welfare remained priorities.
The Johor Exco line-up for the new term saw six assemblymen retaining their portfolios, while four new faces were appointed to the state government administration.
All 10 assemblymen were sworn in before the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, during the appointment letter presentation and oath-taking ceremony held at Istana Bukit Serene here yesterday.
