Johor Polls: PH Candidates In Last Sprint With Hybrid Strategy To Reach Voters

JOHOR BAHRU, July 6 (Bernama) -- With only five days left before polling day this Saturday, Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates are launching a 'final push' by optimising a hybrid strategy to maximise their reach to voters in the 16th Johor state election.

The strategic approach that combines personal touch through traditional grassroots outreach with the mastery of digital narratives is now the candidates' main weapon in ensuring their vision and mission reach all levels of society.

Apart from group talks, the use of social media is now being transformed into a 'virtual campaign room' to publicise the manifesto's offers directly (direct-to-voters), thus enabling faster two-way interaction.

The presence of the party's top leadership who camped out in the field also provided a morale boost and spurred the momentum of the grassroots machinery to work harder.

Among those implementing this approach was the incumbent Simpang Jeram assemblyman, Nazri Abdul Rahman, who went out to greet the community, accompanied by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

In a post, Chow also made an open call to the people of Johor to give the mandate to PH candidates to ensure the continued progress and prosperity of the state under inclusive governance.

Apart from group talks, the use of social media is now transformed into a 'virtual movement room' to publicise the manifesto offers directly, thus allowing for faster two-way interaction.

The TikTok platform has proven to be the most dynamic medium when several candidates began to gain attention through a relaxed but meaningful delivery style.

Tiram candidate, Nor Zulaila Abd Ghani, was among those who attracted attention when she utilised the platform with a casual style, thus receiving praise from users on social media.

"Good content of delivery, best! I like this candidate, perfect candidate as our leader and bring our voices in the assembly," among the responses from social media users in the TikTok comment section of Nor Zulaila.

Meanwhile, Puteri Wangsa candidate, Dr Maszlee Malik, continues to strengthen his digital dominance through the official WhatsApp Channel 'Gerak Sama Dr Maszlee Malik' to make it easier for voters to follow the progress of the movement and channel their aspirations directly.

Machap candidate, Nor Hafiz Roslan, meanwhile, uses Facebook to highlight his profile as a lawyer and community activist who is determined to bring the voices of the people to a higher level.

As for Tanjung Surat candidate, Faizul Abdul Ghani chose the mobility method through the 'Jelajah Trak Harapan' which allows him to reach more people in various localities more quickly and flexibly.

The Election Commission (EC) has set polling day for July 11, while early voting day for security forces is scheduled to take place tomorrow, July 7
