Gold Futures End Lower Despite COMEX Gains

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Monday, despite gains in gold prices on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the new spot-month October 2026 contract fell to US$4,178.40 per troy ounce from US$4,216.10 previously, while the November 2026 contract declined to US$4,195.40 from US$4,232.80.

The December 2026 contract fell to US$4,212.00 per troy ounce from US$4,232.80 previously, while the January 2027, February 2027 and April 2027 contracts each declined to US$4,212.00 from US$4,232.80 previously.

Trading volume rose to 161 lots from 144 on Friday, while open interest increased to 228 contracts from 212 previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,190.05 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Oct 2.
