Johor Polls: Anwar On Campaign Trail With Seven Programmes Today

JOHOR BAHRU, July 4 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to boost the coalition’s campaign for the 16th Johor state election today with seven events across the state.

The Prime Minister’s official Facebook page shows that he will kick off the itinerary by engaging with voters at the Kita Geng MADANI x Anak Muda Bukit Batu event in Taman Tropika, Kulai, at 3.30 pm.

He will then attend a high tea with Johor community leaders at a hotel here at 4.50 pm, where he is expected to meet people from various walks of life, before proceeding to the Kembara Inspirasi Belia Akar Umbi (KIBAR) programme in Taman Melor, Tampoi, at 6 pm.

The evening programme will see Anwar attend the Malam Kebudayaan India Harapan Bersama PMX in Taman Tampoi Indah at 7.45 pm, followed by a dinner with the Chinese community here at 8.35 pm.

Efforts to engage young voters will continue with a Johor Youth Dialogue session at the Felda Ulu Tebrau Hall at 9.30 pm.

The day is expected to conclude with the Malam Anak Muda Kempas event at the Cempaka Food Court grounds in Kempas at 10.45 pm.

Anwar is set to continue his Johor campaign momentum tomorrow with eight additional programmes aimed at energising support for the coalition’s candidates and campaign machinery.

PH is contesting all 56 state assembly seats in this election, with 20 candidates from PKR, 19 from Amanah and 17 from DAP.

In total, 172 candidates are contesting the Johor state election, due to be held on July 11, with early voting on July 7.
